the green thrill

a week after the cave exploration, i went for another outdoor activity on 22-nov. kali ni skytrex adventure kat taman pertanian bukit cherakah. this is where you can challenge your fear through 23 aerial obstacles walking, swinging, gliding and flying from tree to tree as high as 17m in the air.

as usual, and again i was the first to arrive at the park. yang lain tu kalau masuk TAR, sah awal-awal lagi terkeluar. we booked for 1130am slot. an activity by group with time slot so booking is a must. from the main entrance, we were taken by shuttle bus to the location. jauh dan berpusing-pusing jalannya. i noticed that the park is not very well maintained.



kat lokasi skytrex, mula-mula sekali kena pakai PPE. peralatan wajib untuk aktiviti ni. memang tak reti lah nak pakai sendiri. kalau tak nak sewa glove yang lutfi kata busuk tu, bawak lah glove sendiri.




next was a crash course at jump-start circuit, the compulsary trial. we were explained how to use the harness and the safety tips. salah-salah dari tiga tali tu mesti disangkut pada kabel sepanjang masa. on platform, only 3 people are allowed at one time. lepas tu, baru lah cuba buat cabaran-cabaran skytrex ni. what we did here are the basic challenges which are easier and at lower height than the main circuit.






finally, the real adventure came at the big thrill circuit. there was another group beside us. lama dan letih jugak nak menunggu sorang demi sorang panjat pokok tu. it was already noon by then. dah lapar ni. pokok yang nak kena panjat tu memang tinggi. marul was the first followed by que, zaidi, aida, lutfi, aliff, me, omar, resh and lastly our captain cum photographer, irwan. sebab tu sapa yang naik last-last tu banyak gambar..hehe.




halangan-halangan kat sini antaranya berjalan di jambatan jaring, melintas jambatan (motif buat zig-zag?) dan semestinya flying. tak silap, 3 kali terbang. memang tinggi dan sapa yang takut tinggi tu boleh gayat dibuatnya. it was thrilling but exciting crossing and flying from one tree top to another at various heights. sekeliling semuanya hijau.





paling mencabar sekali pada aku ialah meeyberang jambatan yang kena gunakan tali tu. not that difficult but you really have to pull out the energy to swing yourself forward. lebih-lebih lagi aku yang tengah kelaparan ni. sedap betul aku tengok nasi yang abang kat bawah tu makan..





turun dari pokok ni, rupanya ada 11 lagi cabaran menunggu. untuk sesapa yang nak buat shortcut tu, boleh lah ambik chicken exit. tapi tu sebenarnya tu laluan utk sapa-sapa yang tak cukup keberanian..hehe. and finally we ended our adventure with the grand finale, the 100m flying fox.





julian sent us back to the main entrance with his pick-up. masing-masing berebut nak duduk belakang. terasa macam pekerja kontrak. pekerja kontrak yang happy and happening gitu.

kat luar, sempat lagi makan roti aiskrim sebelum balik. lapar ni. dari sini, terus pegi lunch dulu kat shah alam. it was great sweating out under the sun once in a while.
